We will walk into the ocean together, hand in hand. I can never remember where these things start but I can always remember where they end. Let the blurred lights fade into the waves behind us. I can feel my memories fading, I can feel myself waking up. Are you going to be there when I open my eyes? I love you beyond these lifetimes that we have lived. I love you beyond this island. I love you like the buildings in the distance, the streetlights stretching back to the sea, the ghosts of these strangers that you have filled my memories with, they were all you. It was your face in every glass, your voice in all the echoes, your eyes in all the lambent mist, your hair in all the leaves, your hands in all the branches, your heart in all the trees. I will miss this island. I will miss you. I hope to remember you wherever I am going. Let the waves come up and take me again.
